Dear Wife…We just got out of the wild blue yonder and we’ve got to go back again at 10:00 PM. For over two years of war nobody flew at night. We clobbered the Hun at night, the R.A.F. hit them by night. Now that it is all over, we have to fly at night.
Just to show you how goes the mail situation, I got two letters three days go, none since. Tomorrow I’ll probably get five You can’t depend on the varmints.
We got a new radio today. That job we bought for 20 pounds turned out to be a flop. We went to the P.X. and saw a fine large radio sitting in a shelf playing like mad….Now our lights are out and we can’t play it, but we have a project underway right now.
Today reminds me of some of the days we had in San Antonio…We sure had a wonderful time, didn’t we hon?...I am thankful that I got in that car last…You are a wonderful creature, and I never cease to marvel at how I met you…If I had gotten hold of anybody but you that night, the Devil himself can’t say what would have happened. I loved you then, I love you now, I’ll love you until the end of time. When I get home, it will seem like getting the rest of me back again, you’re more than half of me now
