WW1 photo of a disabled British Mark IV tank in a desolate field near Pompelle (Champagne). Used in Second Battle of the Marne 1918. In background Pompelle Fort.
It had been previously been captured by the Germans. It has some of the older British markings (tank #5), but now with painted on German Maltese crosses.
