1942-45 Canada WW2 Toronto YMCA Red Triangle Club

WWII‑era YMCA Red Triangle Club leave‑center card, used by enlisted men on leave in Toronto, dating circa 1942–1945.

The Red Triangle Club, operated by the YMCA,  was located at 504Jarvis St. For 50 cents, an enlisted man could rent a room for the night.

During WWII, the YMCA operated “Red Triangle” facilities across Canada for:

• enlisted servicemen on leave
• temporary accommodation
• recreation, meals, writing rooms, showers
• low‑cost lodging (your card shows 50¢ per night)

These clubs were part of the YMCA’s national war‑service program, heavily used by RCAF, Army, and Navy personnel passing through Toronto.

The red triangle logo was the YMCA’s wartime emblem for military support services.
