F. Earl Christy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1882. Christy produced dozens of magazine covers including;  Dell Publishing Company for Modern Romances, Modern Screen and Radio Stars, Ainslee's magazine, American Magazine, Sunday Magazine of the New York Times, Collier's, Leslie's Illustrated Weekly, Liberty Magazine, McClure's Photoplay Magazine, and Puck Magazine. He also created illustrations for many calendar prints, ink blotters, postcards and Princess Pat Cosmetic's advertisements. Most of his images were of beautiful girls primarily playing sports such as basketball, golf and tennis.

Reinthal & Newman, NY (American Publishers, 1906-1928), were also associated with The House of Art, NY which was the distributive arm of the company. In 1896 Albert Emanuel Reinthal (c1872-1933) immigrated to New York City and originally started the firm of Reinthal & Gross (1896-1905) who sold picture frames and room mouldings, but the company later dissolved. In 1906, Reinthal later partnered with Stephen (Sigmund) Lang Newman (19th Cen.-1952) to form the Reinthal & Newman publishing company.
