Form letter from John McMillan, Grand Master Ontario West, Toronto. Plea for members to subscribe to Lodge’s Sentinel newspaper.

…I regret that after its thirty years of faithful and devoted work for the Loyal Orange Association in Canada it should be found necessary, in the intere4st of the Order as well as of the Sentinel to make this statement.

I know of no newspaper in the Dominion that gives more or better value for the money….The small price at which the Sentinel is sold to subscribers puts the employment of paid canvassers out of the question, Whatever has to be eon must be done by the Brethren themselves and done quickly….urge upon the members the absolute necessity f subscribing for the best Orange newspaper published…

Folded for mailing.

26 x 21 ½ cm

The Sentinel has been in circulation for well over a century, with some editions dating back to the early 1900s. It was created to connect members of the Orange Order, share lodge news, promote Protestant values, and preserve the organization's heritage. The publication often includes lodge updates, historical retrospectives, community outreach stories, and messages from leadership.
