The firm of Ely, Boynton, and Ely were in operation from 1903 to 1908 and produced many original cartoon cards some of them featuring Jewish stereotypes. The Detroit Free Press of Sunday, November 26, 1905 advertised a post-office in the show at the booth of Ely, Boynton & Ely, makers. On 16 December 1905 the same journal reported that Edward A. Ely of the advertising firm Ely, Boynton & Ely, was critically ill.
