The Castle Square Theatre (1894–1932) in Boston, Massachusetts, was located on Tremont Street in the South End. The building existed until its demolition in 1933.+

…An especially successful extravaganza was Aladdin, Jr., produced by David Henderson in 1895. The prolific J. Cheever Goodwin provided the book, which meant that puns were its main form of humor. The music, such as it was, came from W.F. Batchelor, W.F. Glover. and Jesse Williams. Hannah Boyd and J.J. Burke headed the cast, whose performances, like Goodwin’s story, were largely subordinate to spectacular effects. One reviewer, awed by what he had seen, wrote, “Mr. Henderson is regarded as the most eminent contriver of this sort of entertainment in this coiuntry, and there are few who, having see his former efforts and taken into account this, his latest, will dissute his position as head of the managers who word in this field.The story was that of Aladdin, moved to Peking and Egypt and told serio-comically, with magnificent scenes representing “the grand square in Peking, the exterior and interior of the mystic gardens of the imperial palace, and a place on the banks of the Nile.”…
