Nice pencil etching on paper, with white gouache highlights, of two rowboats leaving their warships. One is a two-master, the other a three. Based on the flag and provenance, believe them to be French ships.
Signed LL “Smith 1868”.
Mounted on thick cardboard.
Appears to be bend in the paper running diagonally from UL to center of drawing. Some toning (glue?) LR corner. Light smudges on front. Some foxing on frame.
