Je vous prie de m’envoyer deux caisses de vin de Bordeaux de Lafitte de la première qualité, de six douzaines de bouteilles chacune et une caisse contenant une douzaine de bouteilles de vieux Cognac, une douzaine de bouteilles de liqueur d’anisette...trente bouteilles de Sauternes,..
Je désire aussi une demi == de bon vin de Bordeaux == la table, comme le vin de St Julien ...me commander de votre correspondant à Rheims deux caisses de champagne de Sillery également bon à celui de l’année 1839...
..envoyée directement à mon adresse à Naples et je les ferez retirer de la douane...

Please send me two cases of first quality Bordeaux wine from Lafitte, six dozen bottles each and one case containing a dozen bottles of old Cognac, a dozen bottles of anisette liqueur ... thirty bottles of Sauternes..
I also want a half == of good Bordeaux wine ==table, like the wine of St Julien ... order me from your correspondent in Rheims two cases of Sillery champagne equally good as that of the year 1839 .. .
..sent directly to my address in Naples and I will have them removed from customs

Sir William Temple (1788-1856) was the third child of Henry Temple, second Viscount Palmerston, and his second wife Mary Mee. Born on 19 January 1788, he was the younger brother of Henry John Temple, later third Viscount Palmerston. Alongside the two boys were three Temple sisters: Frances (the eldest), Elizabeth, and Mary. However, Mary, the youngest of the siblings, died when she was still a young child as a result of smallpox inoculation.

From  1832-1856 was the British ambassador to the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies in Naples. On his death he bequeathed a major collection to the British Museum.
