Entry pass for reception on February 3rd 1919 at the Paris residence of the President of the Chamber of Deputies in honor of President Woodrow Wilson and the First Lady.  The President was in France for the Paris Peace Conference that had begun 3 weeks earlier.

il est reçu triomphalement sur le sol français. Le 3 février 1919, il souligne luimême « l’insigne et extraordinaire honneur » qui lui est fait : reçu dans l’hémicycle du Palais-Bourbon, il monte à la tribune pour développer sa vision de l’avenir. Quelques mois plus tard, il reçoit le prix Nobel de la Paix.

 

 

The Paris Peace Conference convened on January 18th 1919 at Versailles just outside Paris. The conference was called to establish the terms of the peace after World War I. Though nearly thirty nations participated, the representatives of the United Kingdom, France, the United States, and Italy became known as the “Big Four.” The “Big Four” dominated the proceedings that led to the formulation of the Treaty of Versailles on June 28th 1919, a treaty that ended World War I.

On December 10, 1920, Wilson was awarded the 1919 Nobel  Peace Prize "for his role as founder of the League of Nations"
