Interesting letter from Richard Heyworth of Stockport to lawyer Peter Healey in Manchester discussing purchase of a church pew from a Mr. Newton.

In answer to yours 19th last I beg to say that I cannot consent to give £25 for the pews no. 51 & 52 & after to heat for an exchange with Mr. Feilden. Will you be good enough to inform me the lowest price Mr. Newton will take for the pew No. 51 which I believe next the door, & shortened in length by the  – which support the gallery.
