In 1898 the London branch of H.J. Heinz Company moved to 99-101 Farringdon Road, which contained a warehouse, convention space and offices. In addition, the building served as an immense billboard from which to advertise Heinz and its 57 Varieties. Heinz became one of the first United States companies to expand internationally, with sales branches and factories established in the United Kingdom in 1905 and in Canada in 1909.
