Two photos postcards of an officer in the King's Own Regiment Lancaster (KORL). He has lion collar and cap pins. On his sleeve, three stripes, major. Wearing his sword and riding boots.

One card has him standing in front of a building, second on his horse. On the back of the horse card it says "Papa & Charlie  sept. 1915 Lancaster"

Some toning on backs. Horse card has smudge.

The King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) was a line infantry regiment of the British Army. It served under various titles and fought in many wars and conflicts, including both the First and the Second World Wars, from 1680 to 1959.

The Regiment raised 17 Battalions, was awarded 59 Battle Honours and 8 Victoria Crosses losing 6,478 men during the course of the war.
