Lavishly illustrated certificate that commemorates both First Communion and Confirmation. Main central image of priest giving first communion to boys and girls, below another where they are being confirmed. Surrounding main image are smaller ones…baptism, confession, baby Jesus.

Martha M. Tonner(?) received the first communion in St.-Raymond’s Church on the 3 day of June in the year 1905 and was confirmed June 12 1906.

Some stains and toning on back. Some paper creases at top. Small pencil mark UL.  Paper has slight warp.

Turgis Fils was an esteemed publisher of religious images in the 1800s. It is known for its detailed artwork and innovative printing technologies, particularly chromolithography. Their work is included in an extensive French devotional image collection at Harvard University.
