Letter to John Kitson registrar in Norwich, from Philip Meadows of Great Bealings, renewing his non-residence licence.

Dear Sir,
Inc’d your letter with the printed petition for the renewal of my licence for non-residence, which I have filled up, signed, and do herein return to you. It is a little singular, that I should have addressed you, upon the same subject, by the same post.
I remain Dr. Sir with compts. To your father  ---- servt.

Philip Meadows (1777-1837)  was a rector of Bealing Magna. Interesting trivia...in 1812 John Ablett was convicted of stealing one of Philip Meadows' horses, and in 1813 sent to New South Wales.

In 1814, J. Kitson was the Bishop's registrar.

John Kitson resided in Thorpe Market, a small town near the city of Norwich, in the county of Norfolk, England, during the first half of the nineteenth century. Between 1831 and 1837, Kitson apparently worked in the Registry and Public Records Office in Norwich, processing and indexing legal documents such as divorce papers and wills. He may also have served as a solicitor in the Norwich area.
