Loyal Service Cross (Crucea Serviciul Credincios) with crossed swords, Bronze Gilt (III class), 1938-1947 issue.
Very good shape, ribbon bit faded.
Bronze cross pattée on crossed swords and circular laurel wreath, on swivel crown suspension the face with a circular central medallion bearing the 1921 small version of the arms of Romania; the reverse inscribed 'SERVICIU CREDINCIOS' (Loyal Service) within a laurel and oak wreath; on original ribbon.
The Cross was instituted on 11 November 1906 in celebration of the 40th anniversary of King Carol's appointment as Domnitor of the Principality of Romania to be awarded for long and faithful service to the Kingdom of Romania. The Cross could be awarded to Romanian and non-Romanian citizens.
