1855 Pre-Civil War Loan of the City of Philadelphia Bond certificate - $3000

Charles Evans of Berks County lends $3000 at 6% interest. Principal not to be repaid until 1890.

Witnessed at Philadelphia 4th April 1855.

Signed by John Lindsay City Treasurer and John N. Henderson City Controller.

Blue stamp that says 'Loan to North Pennsylvania Railroad' and nice dry seal of the city of Philadelphia.
