An important and successful summer resort in the Muskoka Region of Ontario from 1885 to the present. Four generations of the Love family tried to create a world class summer resort from modest beginnings. The resort was unique in that it catered to the many well to do Canadians and Americans with strong religious beliefs including several of North America's founding families.


Valentine & Sons printed its first postcards in the 1890s. Valentine & Sons became a limited company in 1896. Canadian postcard production began in 1903.

The Canadian office of Valentine’s of Dundee, Scotland ran from 1907-1923 under the name The Valentine & Sons' Publishing Co. Ltd. The first office opened in Montreal and then Toronto.
